FaithWeaver Friends®
The children’s midweek Bible curriculum that really reaches out!
8 family-friendly ways to connect with parents and families
through FaithWeaver Friends!
1. Family Meal
Invite families to take advantage of a wonderful weekly opportunity! More info on Family Meals!
2. Surprise Station
Each week the Bible Point can be reinforced by having a church or community member make a brief presentation about a specific hobby or profession. Actively try to include kids’ parents. This is a great way to introduce parents and other adults to volunteering.
3. Closing Celebration
This is where children receive keys and are affirmed for completed service projects.
4. Family Walks
Specifically designed as family events, Family Walks are a great place to meet and chat with parents and siblings of Friends kids. More information about Family Walks!
5. My Bible Memories Take-Home Pages
One way to engage the parents of preschoolers is to jot notes on their weekly take-home papers.
6. Circle of Friends Leaders and Discovery Center Leaders
Ask for parents to fill these vital roles. If they’re gifted and agree, you’ve involved a family.
7. Quarterly Closing Celebrations
At the end of each quarter, children receive their completed faith journals to take home.
8. Donuts for Dad; Muffins for Mom
Create a comfortable lounge area. Stock it with muffins and donuts. Have juices available or a pot of coffee brewing. Invite parents to stick around awhile after they drop off their kids, or to come back twenty minutes early when they return to retrieve their children.
